Is it possible to host my own version of Exhibit?
Yes, it is possible to host your own instance of Exhibit. Please see the documentation on self-hosting. For all other enquiries about hosting please get in touch.
Why isn't my IIIF manifest loading in Exhibit?
It could be that CORS is not correctly configured on your server. You can check your manifest URL here. If after clicking "Send Request" you get "XHR status: 0", this means that CORS is not correctly configured. If you get "XHR status: 200", this means that CORS is correctly configured.
What is the tech stack of Exhibit?
Exhibit is built with Next.js and hosted on Firebase App Hosting.
- Frontend: React with Tailwind CSS.
- Backend: Firebase services including Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Storage.
- Repository: Single GitHub monorepo.
Is the Exhibit tech stack future proof?
Firebase is an established and actively maintained platform backed by Google. Next.js and React represent the industry standard for modern web application development, and Tailwind CSS provides modern, maintainable styling.
